I use it as a work vehicle, constantly carrying parts, tools and equipment to maintain radio stations at 35,000 miles/year. Good points: It has held up well with a peppy 4-cyl using 5W-20 oil, implying tight tolerances. Comfort and features are spartan ... not lavish. It handles well with respectable 24mpg highway average. It still has the original brakes at 130K with more to go. Bad Points: The factory BF Goodrich tires are HORRIBLE with poor performance and wear-demand replacements or walk. This is NOT an off-road car; it will get easily stuck in the mildest of farm pasture conditions and clearnace is TOO LOW. The "Maintenance" light is ALWAYS on with my use ... oil changes every 3750 mi. The air conditioner blew at 20K (not normal for a Honda). Somehow, the gas tank vapor canister was damaged at the same point (no accident???); the part, alone, was $900!!!! I first refused, finally relented and it's still a problem; the fuel system loses pressure when the gas cap is removed, meaning hard starts with every fillup. The dealer has insulted my intelligence at every turn and one can forget any support from Honda. Service wise, I feel like a slave to the car. It is not a bad car, but at this stage, I have a choice ... spend $2000 on service or use that money as a down-payment for a replacement. Ya' know, I have always liked Nissans. In truth, other folks generally have a better experience than mine but Honda can forget about me because of its policies and dealer support.

Great gas mileage, comfort, design, function and reliability!!!!!! I would even sell this car to a friend!!!!!!!!!!! Ours has every Honda option and Honda accessory available, except Backup sensors and premium sound bass system! I bought it used from Craigs List from the original owner. It was a one, single, female owned Honda CR-V SE. She had kept it garaged and it was completely Honda dealer maintained. She was selling it and/or trading it in for a new BMW! I paid her a very reasonable 17,000.00 cash. I would buy it used now, in a New York minute! My wife and I are senior citizens 72 and 74 years old! Weve fully followed its former owners maintenance and Hondas recommended maintenance practices. We baby Miss Jeannes baby even when it is on the road, avoiding the interstate highway system as much as possible! We follow all speed and all local and over the road traffic laws! Perfect Sahara Sand gold metallic paint, kept washed and waxed by Mark and Sons Mobile Detailing, garage kept, and kept covered with the best, most expensive, in door car cover California Car Cover makes! NOT FOR SALE! at this time. Watch for our estate sale notice, if one of our daughters or grand kids dont keep her for themselves!

I freaking love my CR-V. I don't like the new styles in the past 10 years so I haven't convinced myself I need a new one. That thing has gotten me through some INSANE Michigan winters. Never was late to work. The all wheel drive just walks through everything as long as you've got good tires. It's so comfortable to drive on road trips. I've driven to North Carolina and New York. It parks like a car. It carries everything you need for camping. I just can't rave about my CR-V enough. I just wish they would bring back that old style because the head room was better. The newer ones are rather plastic-y.
